Registration

Registration is via Indico (not yet opened)

Registration fee 30 EUR (or equivalent 750 CZK) to be payed in cash on-site, The fee covers the conference facilities, coffee breaks, and Tuesday and Wednesday lunch.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept credit cards. The only non-cash option is bank transfer in advance, contact us if you need details.

The registration desk will open at 11am on Monday. We expect almost 100 people therefore the participants are stongly encouraged to arrive well in advance before the official meeting start (1:30pm) to allow smooth registration. Coffee and light refreshment will be served during the registration.

Accomodation

Hotel Golf

We booked a block of 60 rooms in the Hotel Golf where the meeting is held. Contact the hotel directly and refer to the CESNET block booking, please. The block booking expires on October 31.

We encourage the participants to stay in Hotel Golf. The accomodation is far from being expensive (1000 CZK for double room or 700 CZK for single room, including breakfast) and we get the conference facilities for very good price (reflected in the low registration fee as well) for the expectation the hotel makes money on the accomodation. Fair is fair.

City centre

CESNET recommends two hotels in the very city centre:

You may also check another hotel list assembled a few years ago (this is another event page, ignore anything else except of the hotel info). Eventually, try on your own at e.g. www.hotel.cz.

Food

Coffee breaks and lunch on Tuesday will be served on-site, and they are covered by the registration fee.

Conference dinner will be organized on Tuesday in the Vikarka restaurant. The dinner is for extra 40 EUR (to be payed at registration).

Transport

From the airport

The hotel is approx. 15 km driving distance from the airport. Taxi is feasible but in order to avoid unpleasant surprise, ask the driver for the price estimate first. It should not exceed 500 CZK (20 EUR).

With public transport, take bus 179 from the airport (Sunday and Monday timetables) to the Motol stop, it takes approx. 30 minutes. Then take tram 9, 10, or 16 in the direction to the city centre and get off at the second stop Hotel Golf. The hotel is on your right, approx. 150 m backwards. Walking (less than 1km) is possible instead of the tram as well (Motol is the junction on the left).

Another option is bus 225 (Monday only). Get off at Slánská (30 minutes again), and take the same trams as above (9, 10, 16) to the city centre, the hotel is the fifth stop in this case.

From the city centre

Tram 9, 10 (and 16 in peek hours) in the direction Sídliště Řepy (those who are able to pronounce this by heart at the registration get special discount), from wherever in the city centre, possible main hubs are Hlavní nádraží (main station, metro C), Národní třída (metro B) and Anděl (metro B). Get off at Hotel Golf stop, the hotel is approx. 150 m farther on your left.

See www.dpp.cz for further information on public transport (maps, timetables etc.).

By train

Railway fans may consider train connections from Praha-Smíchov through romantic "Prague Semmering" to Praha-Stodůlky (the trains go every hour) and approx. 1 km walk. Consult the map above thoroughly, the walk is not fully straightforward.
